Production process
State-of-the-art production techniques
In our four factories, we process tons of potatoes each day to
produce the tastiest potato products. Three factories are located
in The Netherlands in Oosterbierum, Bergen op Zoom and Kruiningen,
the fourth factory is in Wisbech in Great Britain. From them, we
serve our markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Sustainability, food safety and good working conditions all play
an important role in our factories. We use state-of-the-art
production techniques and work constantly at improving our
processes. The supply of constant quality is our priority.
From potato to fries
A lot has to be done before a potato leaves our factory as
fries. Below is a brief summary of our production process:
Reception
The potatoes are delivered to the factory. We take
samples of each consignment in order to check the quality. We only
use the finest potatoes for our products.
Sorting
The potatoes are sorted by size, overly small potatoes
are removed.
Washing and peeling
We wash the potatoes using high water pressure, after
which they are peeled and washed again.
Cutting
The peeled and washed potatoes are now propelled by high
water pressure through narrow pipes containing the cutting
knives.

Length sorting
The cut fries are sorted, small pieces and cutting waste
are removed.
Blanching and pre-frying
We blanch the fries briefly and then fry them in 100%
vegetable oil. The oil temperature and frying time is of course
constantly monitored in order to guarantee optimum
quality.
Freezing and
packaging
The pre-fried fries are frozen to approximately minus
nine degrees Celsius. In the packaging department, the fries are
packed into bags and boxes by a fully automated process. The
products are finally transported to our customers in Europe and
further afield, from our modern frozen storage facilities.
